Analysis and Planning Analysis and Planning Officer (Data Management support)
To work as part of the operations team with an influence on the development of the capability of the Traffic Information Services delivered by the Project. The role will involve the management of the data for the system Highways Agency Project Network.
The Central system will have a large database containing a definition of the network in terms of links, nodes and attributes.
Job Description:
The work will involve:
1. Reviewing the changes to the Highways Agency Road Network in order to determine the changes necessary in the database. Acceptance of the data.
2. Tracking changes to roadside names, equipment and features to ensure the database is up to date.
3. Review of the information provided by the Network of Traffic Monitoring devices to validate its accuracy, consistency and completeness.
4. Ongoing reassessment of the Network capacities based on the traffic flow information gathered from the Network of Traffic monitoring devices installed.
5. Preparation of Traffic Statistics reports.
Experience:
It is expected that the candidate will have:
1. qualifications in Traffic Engineering or significant experience.
2. GIS/Database experience.
3. experience of traffic monitoring methods and the review of traffic statistics.
