Highways Engineer / Technician Highways - Birmingham
We are currently looking for a Highways Engineer / Technician to join our Highways team in the Birmingham office. The principal duties will include highway design (including alignment, drainage, pavement, fencing and signs), liaising with clients, contractors, services companies and other Third Parties, tender and contract documentation and cost estimates. You will also contribute to the production of fee estimates and proposals.
The successful candidate will ideally be an Incorporated Engineer with a HNC / degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, or an engineer with good relevant experience seeking to achieve Chartered status.
You will need a good knowledge of HA design standards and excellent MOSS skills are essential.
Experience of D&B, site supervision and dealing with contractors and third parties would be an advantage, as would a wider experience of infrastructure design and an awareness of environmental and geotechnical related issues.
We are seeking a good team player with the skills and ability to lead technicians. Dependable to meet targets, with good IT skills, you will be interested in design not purely project management.
