Job Title:Product Engineer
Reports To:Product Engineering Manager
Background
Definition, development, and documentation of test hardware and software required for design verification, characterisation, and production. Including all electrical and optical aspects of the sensor design.
Development of test strategy and new test methodology.
Specification of all parts of device electrical and optical characterisation and qualification, including ESD, latchup and life test.
Technical support to sales, marketing, quality and operations engineering, with direct customer interface as necessary.
Device ownership after design signoff, including NPI management, production signoff, and management of ST product maturity system.
Cross-functional team leader, with involvement in the design process of new CMOS imager products, focusing on manufacturability and industrialisation.
Co-ordination of cross functional problem solving teams to maximise production efficiency without adversely affecting product quality.
Identify potential areas of improvement, using statistical analysis of manufacturing data, in the subcontract manufacturing and test facilities both in Europe and the Far East.
Key Responsibilities:
Qualified to at least Degree level in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related science.
Knowledge of semiconductor device physics is desirable, as is an appreciation of digital and analogue architectures and manufacturing processes.
Ideally experienced in the application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to analyse manufacturing data.
Strong communications and interpersonal skills, the ability to multiplex tasks and work under sustained pressure, and a self starter are essential.
Relevant technical, test, and ATE experience (mixed signal & optical).
