Our Client based in Templecombe, Somerset are looking for a Senior Buyer – Sub Contractor
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
The role of Senior Buyer – Sub contractor is a vital part to the ongoing growth and development of our Market Leading Company. This position is an essential role of the Procurement Department and is responsible for the purchasing of all Sub Contract services and solutions to support the design and production of our sonar systems.
Working in business driven teams across UK and the Group, the Sub Contractor Section has an annual spend of approximately €45 million. .
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities and Key Performance Areas:
Source and maintain excellent working practises with new and approved suppliers.
Provide assistance to engineering with new products and obsolescence information.
Assist management in upstream purchase activities.
Proactively support the departments Cost Reduction and Risk Analysis programmes.
Negotiate T’s and C’s with suppliers.
Deputise for Section Leader and Purchasing Manger where required.
Proactively support the management team in providing statistical support of the Sub Contractor section.
Management of supplier's KPI’s.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
5 years + experience in a similar role
Be an established Buyer within Sub Contractor market place
Proven experience of managing 3rd party suppliers
Excellent communication skills both written and oral
Be degree educated in a relevant discipline
