Our Client based in Hemel Hempstead (soon to be moving to Buckinghamshire) are looking to recruit a Senior/PCB Design Engineer.
Role:
The Senior Design Engineer will be located in multi-disciplined project teams within an Engineering Design Office. The position will involve a range of activities primarily associated with Schematic Capture & PCB Layout Design, plus input into the overall Configuration Design process of electronic equipment products and will include:
To Produce and maintain the completed schematic from input of electronic circuit engineers data.
To produce PCB layout designs for a wide range of board technologies that meet agreed technical, cost and project timescales
To analyse & interpret the design requirements of electronic circuit engineers and mechanical configuration engineers and provide suitable solutions to problems
To produce and maintain schematic and component libraries for use during the design process
To assume overall technical responsibility for the design, including use of up to date techniques for PCB layout and manufacture, and where necessary supervise other design engineers
To ensure design and configuration control is maintained throughout the process
To call/attend design reviews & meetings as necessary, and interface with all members of the team.
To approve all related detail drawings
Candidate Profile:
HND plus 5 years experience in a relevant engineering design office environment
Experienced in the design & layout of multi-layer, rigid/flexi-rigid, SMT & mixed technology PCB’s
Good working knowledge of Schematic Capture & PCB Layout tools, Cadence would be ideal
Good appreciation of, and a willingness to be involved in the overall configuration and packaging design of complete electronic equipment products
Good understanding of 3D/Solid Modelling techniques, familiarisation with a recognised 3D Mechanical CAD system (preferably SDRC-Ideas) would be an advantage
Excellent technical and analytical skills in a design environment
Attention to quality and accuracy is essential as is the ability to meet project time scales
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written) at all levels both internally and externally
Highly effective team player, self-motivated with the ability to make decisions and motivate team members
