Our Client baased in Cheltenham are looking for an experienced Digital design engineer with some Analogue knowledge to fill the role of Principal Electronics Engineer.
Experience:
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience of concurrent engineering and designing for manufacture and of designing high density, high speed digital circuits, on multi-layer PCBs using surface mount technology. The candidate needs to have had experience of producing documentation to avionic standards. Experience of accurate project planning and costing as well as successful team and project management is also required.
Skills/Software:
The applicant must have up to date technical knowledge to be able to design complex electronic circuits with the minimum learning curve. Preferred skills include: 68020/68040/Pentium II/PowerPC based microprocessor design. Mentor Graphics (Design Architect, ModelSim, AccuSim). The candidate needs to have an understanding of displays using Flat Panel AMLCD technology; use of the TS34020 graphics processor. To be able to design and develop high density FPGA/EPLD devices.
Education:
Electronics Degree/HNC with minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
Taking complex electronic circuit designs from the initial design concept through to productionisation. Motivating and encouraging others as well as formally mentoring junior staff. The candidate must posess the drive to proactively improve the department in terms of design techniques and processes.
