Our Client based in Templecombe, Dorset/Somerset Border are looking for an ILS Engineer.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To Influence the supportability of products being developed or modified by the business. This will be achieved by implementing an agreed range of Logistic Support Analysis (LSA)., Availability Reliability and Maintainability (ARM) and Life Cycle Cost (LSC) tasks as required and agreed by the customer
The purpose is to ensure that when the design enters into service it will be fully supportable at the lowest through life cost.
The ILS Group at TE currently consists of 4 staff plus the additional of 1.
At any time there may be in the order of 10 projects and bids being supported by the Group
A project Life Cycle can range from 3 months to 5 years
ILS is implemented in accordance with the requirements if DEF STAN 00-60 and where required includes the application of AECMA Spec 1000D (electronic publications) and 2000M (Electronic provisioning) processes.
ARM is implemented in accordance with the requirements of DEF STAN 00-40
The ILS Group, through an understanding of how the MoD support organisation operates, is contributing to the development of a world class Contractor Logistic Support (CLS) capability.
DAILY ACTIVITIES
Understand and ensure compliance with all contractually specified Integrated Logistic Support requirements
Liase with the engineering disciplines that can impact on the supportability of the product, I.e. Engineering, Technical Documentation, human Factors, Training, Field Support etc
Undertake analysis of alternative support arrangements in order to provide Engineers with design and life cycle cost information to allow trade off to be made
Produce concise and accurate reports for the ILS Manager, Project Manager and the Customer to cover results of analysis, progress, budget etc. As required.
Develop evidence to show that contractual reliability requirements have been met.
Organise ARM demonstrations and trails to verify the ARM requirements have been met.
Be informed about the latest proprietary tools used for understanding LSA< ARM and LCC analysis.
Undertake analysis to provide spare provisioning recommendations.
Understand the MoD support infrastructure to allow optimisation to TUS support proposals.
Planning is generally undertaken in the form ISP Integrated Support Plan. Which in turn contains the individual ILS element plans (for ILS, ARM, human Factors Training LCC Technical Publications etc)> The ISP details all the ILS deliverables and is associated with an Artemis program for monitoring resource and budget.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
5 years engineering experience ( Electrical, Electronic, mechanical, Maintenance)
Familiar with Defence Industry products
You will have exp. in DEF STAN 00-60 Requirements.
You will have a broad back ground in at least 2 of the following :
DEF STAN 00-44
Maintenance Environment
Life Cycle Cost Analysis
Level of Repair Analysis
Logistic Support Analysis
Maintenance Task Planning
Proven Experience with Current Analysis tools for ILS, ARM, LSA and LCC Analysis
Ideally you will have experience of running ILS programmes.
