Our client requires an experienced Systems/Chief Engineer with a strong engineering background in communication systems. The successful candidate will have full technical responsibility for all current programmes, private venture opportunities, study contracts, technical marketing and business development and the management of technical teams.
Experience:
· 7+ years proven Communications Systems Engineering experience · Electronics or Physics- based Degree (min 2.1) or greater level of experience may be considered ·
Broad-based Systems/Digital/RF/Software design experience · Systems Engineering and Life-Cycle Management experience · Project Management experience · Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude who is also strong-minded, versatile and innovative with motivational drive and logic to overcome problems quickly and effectively. · Effective people manager and team builder capable of motivating and inspiring others to meet programme needs · Must possess excellent presentation, proposal writing, project costing and project planning skills · Commercially astute and technically competent who has the ability to communicate effectively with Customers and Senior Management in a confident and professional manner that compliments the business.
Education:
Electronics or Physics- based Degree (min 2.1) or greater
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide strong technical and commercial leadership on Engineering projects.
Manage and direct a multi-disciplinary team of highly skilled Engineers · Plan, co-ordinate and Control technical and Engineering work.
Meet programme deadlines and milestones, to budget.
Support business development, including proposal writing.
Contribute to Company strategic and business planning.
