Your prime task will be the responsibility for design and construction supervision of transportation and hydraulic tunnels in soft and hard ground on both UK and overseas projects. This will include preparation of proposals and estimates, design at all project stages, and inspection, review and advice during construction stages. Other key requirements of this post are integration and close co-operation with other team members and budget control.
Ideally, you should be degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology with a Masters degree in rock mechanics or other geotechnical bias. You will have several years’ extensive post-graduate design experience using numerical methods, combined with practical site experience which should cover a wide range of conventional and machine bored tunnels. International experience will be a distinct advantage as the willingness to undertake periodic overseas travel is a necessity for the role.
