Education Honours degree in a software engineering related subject.
Duties & Responsibilities To lead and manage the software engineering team: Develop software centre of excellence, Line manage the software engineering group, Identify areas for growth and assist the Chief Engineer and Marketing Manager to win new business with software content by contributing to bids and other customer proposals, Lead the preparation of software technical specifications and documentation, Oversee software engineering projects and provide metrics to report progress, Propose the adoption of new cost-effective software tools and manage the existing tools utilised, Promote and manage the continuous improvement of software engineering practices and processes in consultation with the quality department, Act as point of contact and Design Authority with software engineering contractors working on-site, Keep abreast of developments in computing hardware and software development technology and practices and champion their introduction into the business where merited.
