To fuel my clients drive forward we need a Head Engineer to help run an IT department, who can assess and identify needs. Clients business IT needs, develop and implement solutions, whilst contributing to our growth and efficiency through new perspectives on IT, client relationship development and junior staff development. To provide engineering skills covering a whole range of the businesses services with emphasis on quality of customer relationships.
Key Tasks
To create and modify procedures to help with Solve IT's efficiency. Assess customers existing systems/situation to identify their requirements and urgencies. Identify in detail their requirements both hardware and software against their business needs. Produce a report to present options to clients and manage the process of agreeing the way forward. Design, build and implement, final system options agreed. Test systems to ensure it meets clients business requirements. Provide ongoing support and relationship maintenance with clients. Identify and promote any sell-on opportunities with clients, focusing on ensuring maximisation of their system – sell to need. Responsible for managing and developing engineering Apprentices within the business. Contribute to the success of the business by identifying potential additions to services in I.T developments.
Essential experience:
Of system administration and building networks. Of working on a wide range of systems, networks and client environments. Management of staff training and development of staff and clients. Problem solving around I.T products and solutions and business requirements. Able to communicate effectively with clients at all levels (M.D to data inputter), making I.T useable / easy. System assessment. System design. System implementation and testing. Customer care and relationship. Able to train and develop end users. Presentation skills. Resilient and able to deal with frustrated clients calmly and methodically. Prepared to go the extra mile to satisfy client needs. Professional – appearance; manner; quality of work; confidence. Relaxed and a sense of humour. Comfortable when dealing with people, open and friendly. Able to prioritise. Able to work the hours as described I job description. Driving license. Own vehicles to use at work. Willing to travel predominantly UK but possibly Europe/USA.
Experience (Desirable)
Have MCP/MCSE qualification. Exchange in particular. Routers. Exchange. Database/Web. Firewall. Disaster recovery. Apple Mac. Awareness of how businesses operate and what their needs are. Identifying sales opportunities. Able to work from home. |
