My client has been trading since 1989, and since then they have been providing computer users with tape drives and associated tools to store data more quickly, simply and securely. They provide products and services to large and small organisations in all industry sectors, including central and local government, health, police, education, manufacturing and banking.
My client are suppliers of high performance dual tape drives and libraries, for mirrored backup of all systems, based upon DLT, Super DLT, AIT, LTO, DAT and SLR technologies. Second-user Sequent computer hardware and services. Data encryption hardware, encrypting data before it is written to tapes. SCSI and fibre switches, allowing expensive peripherals to be shared by two or more systems. Fibre bridges, connecting SCSI devices to fibre networks. Other tools for handling data, including system-to-system data transfer hardware and tape testing software.
At present they have an exciting opportunity for a Unix Hardware Engineer. They need someone who has an excellent knowledge of Unix and large-scale Unix-based systems. Since most systems operate on a component swap basis these days, the technical skills needed are limited. They are looking for an individual who is extremely competent and able to interact with customers in a face-to-face basis. You are required to have a good level common sense and have the ability to complete a job with a minimum of stress to clients.
Previous experience with a specific manufacturer is not necessary, as my client can train people. If you have have been responsible for a big Unix system in the past and are looking for a new challenge this is the position for you. Based Telford, Shropshire. |
