This position is responsible for the design of new products and the modification and upkeep of existing products. The minimum formal educational requirements for this role are HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Civil engineering, although consideration would be given to holders of ONC or equivalent in the same disciplines with relevant experience.
Experience of using AutoCAD 2002 or the preperation of engineering drawings is essential; knowledge on the use of Mechanical Desktop/Inventor Series would be a distinct advantage.
Microsoft Office skills on Word, Excel and Access.
Several years industry knowledge gained performing these same tasks for an architectural systems supplier is desirable, along with a proven track record of innovative design solutions and knowledge of competitor systems.
Experience required on:
Design Methods, Building Physics/terminology, Good understanding of structural considerations and application, Extrusion/Die Design, Mouldings, Castings and EPDM Extrusions, Structural adhesives, Finishing, Testing of facades, Tooling, Window/door hardware, Glass and glazing, Site installation, Acoustics, Thermal performance, Security enhancement. |
