The Microelectronics Engineer is required to assume the role of technical authority within the Microelectronics group. Be responsible for the design and development of embedded systems for mobile phone base-station equipment.
Main Duties: Minimum 5-years hands-on experience in an embedded systems design role Experience of implementing and interfacing to 8/16 bit micro controller and microprocessor hardware Experience of the following communications implementations I2C, RS-232, RS-485, CAN bus, IEE488, Ethernet etc. Experience in some or all of the following hardware design areas: RF power detectors VSWR measurement techniques. Low-frequency analogue circuit design: linear circuits, filters, transistor circuits, linear power supply, etc. Switch mode PSU design EMC considerations Programmable Logic Design, using PLD’s, FPGA’s, VHDL Good communication skills Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Academic Requirements: Honours Degree or HND in Electronic Engineering or similar, minimum 5 yrs industrial experience.
Personal attributes and strengths: Work within a small team of Engineers and Technicians to continuously improve product design. Able to communicate at all levels and work within set time scales. Be customer focused and provide timely solutions to issues encountered in Engineering.
