My client is one of the largest independent electronics design consultancies in Europe. Since their foundation they have been selected by clients with a requirement for high quality custom electronic product and system design. They provide design services to the communications, defence, industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) markets and can also provide a design and supply service for customer specified electronic products.
They currently have an exciting vacancy for a software engineer. The candidate will have at least 2 years recent industrial experience and posses the following essential skills: a thorough understanding of real-time and embedded system design, including implementation experience; C language programming; experience with at least one of WinCE, VxWork, embedded Linux; assembly language programming and demonstrated commitment to quality assurance. The candidate must also have experience in some of the following: knowledge of wireless technologies: Bluetooth, 802.11, GSM, WCDMA, HomeRF, WiMAX; knowledge of networking stacks; DSP programming; user interface design; RADAR system design; understanding of operating system internals, both theoretically and of specific OS’es; minimum resource design; low power design; design for testability; object oriented design; experience writing device drivers and embedded internet experience.
