Job purpose:
Development and administration of software engineering tools, provision of support to the engineering teams and the maintenance and administration of linux networks.
Principal accountabilities:
Re-design and re-implement internal web site. Tools management and development. Support for engineering tools help desk function
Internal and external relationships:
Working closely with existing small team and providing services for company wide (multinational) engineering staff.
Qualifications, skills and experience:
Must be able to demonstrate one or more years experience in the following key practical skills - Linux / unix administration, Networking, Web server administration and design (e.g. With apache), Small scale database design (e.g. With mySQL)
The ability to demonstrate skills/practical knowledge in the following areas is desirable:
System and network monitoring tools, Network security, Scripting languages (e.g. PERL, PHP, Javascript)
HTML (and XML)
Competencies:
Problem solving, Good communicator (both written and oral), Methodical and thorough, Good customer focus and professional manner
