This opportunity is for a developer to work on the architecture of our complex software product. The work is likely to encompass a wide variety of disciplines, including class design, refactoring, user interface and graphics. Creative thinking will be encouraged, as the work will have a direct impact on the quality of future product releases.
Delcam develops a variety of CAD/CAM software products that form the Power Solution range. PowerMILL (http://www.powermill.com) is a powerful 3D CAM program that creates roughing and finishing toolpaths to optimise the productivity of CNC machine tools while, at the same time, ensuring high quality machining of parts and tooling. PowerMILL is written in C++ using Delcam’s internal development tools to ensure that quality standards are met.
We are looking for candidates with a first or second class degree in either Computer Science or Software Engineering, although other numerate disciplines will be considered provided that there is evidence of some formal education in computing. Programming experience in C++ is essential, either commercially or as part of a final year, or equivalent, software project. You should be self motivating and able to work in a team with low-level supervision.
The position may be filled at any level, from graduate to experienced developer. We offer salaries commensurate with experience, a pension scheme, and private medical cover.
