Qualifications:
Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer
Or
In special circumstances, six years relevant working experience with either a Bachelors degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters degree in Engineering (MEng) and working towards chartership.
Job Purpose: To lead design teams on a variety of landmark projects within one of our Integrated Building groups in London. At present the group Detail of actual vacancy: discipline, group, emphasis of role and projects to take on. Person Specification: This post requires a candidate who must have:
Corporate membership of a relevant institution Good IT skills. Good communication skills, experience in dealing with other employees and external clients. Imagination and creativity Inspirational character Confident, proactive character, with a track record of taking the lead in challenging situations. Ability to run projects successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Job Leader and (in some circumstances) Project Leader Operate and competently work on an independent basis Manage single or multi-disciplinary projects Communicate directly with Clients Prepare technical and financial proposals for new work Plan and monitor job resourcing/expenditure and adjust as necessary Manage workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians. Prepare and take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detail design Prepare Technical Specifications Check/verify other team members work Monitor financial performance of jobs Be alive to new project opportunities Set up and manage job/project administrative systems. Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved. Ensuring all relevant BH staff are informed of client matters. Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client's best interests and that BH policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc. Commitment to CPD and self learning / development
Current Projects within the Group include:
Battersea Power Station. Wembley site – variety of projects, developing the infrastructure to support the Wembley stadium. These include hotels, retail, leisure and transport facilities. Silken Hotel - New residential and hotel at 336 Strand, London, adjacent to junction with Aldwych. Partial retained facade of remainder of original Marconi House with new build behind facade and adjacent. Features include a glass bottomed swimming pool and a cantilever tower 10 storeys high. DfES Academies –The East London Collegiate School, situated in Stoke Newington and Lewisham Academy, situated in South London Northgate - Chester, 400,000 ft 2 retail, residential and leisure Town Centre Development involving refurbishment of historic buildings New projects include 2 large mixed use projects with Multiplex. Palaster - A large office building with Alsop Architects. |
