The main requirement of this role is to support the Mechanical Engineering team by producing
detailed system designs on 3D-CAD using Autodesk Inventor. From time-to-time it will be
necessary to supervise or check the work of other staff or contract draughtsmen doing similar work
on either Inventor or 2D AutoCAD. The successful candidate will also be responsible for producing
/ verifying materials and parts lists, writing requisitions for purchase of equipment and checking
tenders returned.
The successful candidate should be qualified to at least HNC level and have worked in a design
drawing office for at least 10 years. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate not only
significant experience, but also an aptitude for using Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D-CAD
packages.
The job holder will also have opportunities to assist with the supervision of installation and
commissioning of plant, and must be willing to travel overseas. Occasionally during the
construction/commissioning phase of projects he/she will be required to spend extended periods on
construction sites in the UK or abroad.
The successful candidate must be an excellent team player, be able to display a high level of
accuracy in their work and have the ability to work under pressure. Good interpersonal skills are
also required.
