Geotechnical Engineer Location: Southern England Status: Full Time Closing Date: Job Description Core Responsibilities. · Geotechnical desk studies and site visits · Planning and implementation of ground investigations, particularly in a railway context · Interpretative reporting · Geotechnical design – earthworks, foundations, retaining walls, ground improvement · Liaison with railway design offices · Management of design process Person Specification A * denotes essential for the role. Knowledge Required. Minimum 5 years experience of geotechnical engineering, preferably within a railway environment, and predominantly within a design office. Qualifications required. BSc Civil Engineering MSc Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering or similar Chartered Engineer Skills required. Knowledge and use of geotechnical computing programmes for slope stability, retaining wall design and FE analysis. PTS holder preferably Personal qualities. Good verbal and written communication
