Design and development of technical ‘Proof of concepts’
Design, development and demonstration of technical prototypes
Design, development and configuration of Integrated Customer Solutions.
Document solutions in accordance with Quality Standards.
Delivery of high quality, tested solutions to the project manager at specified deadlines.
Ensure development is conducted in accordance with processes relating to Standards, Configuration Control, Project Lifecycle Methodologies, Quality Control and Documentation.
Ensure the technical capability of the team is maintained through demonstration of best practice and coaching.
Share technical knowledge across the Front Office Development Teams
Report activities, technical issues etc. to the Lead Development Engineer.
Liaise with the Business, other GBS Teams and Management where appropriate.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Full development lifecycle experience
Experience working in diverse global teams
Experience implementing and integrating packaged solutions
Working knowledge of RDBMS’s
Good knowledge of Middleware Products and messaging protocols
Object Oriented (OO) design and development skills (including at least one OO language and ideally an OO design methodology
MQ Series / queuing technology
General networking skills
UNIX skilled (any flavour, but must have developed code under UNIX)
QA aware (including BS5750/ISO9001)
Extensive programming experience
Understanding of legacy system architectures, understanding of internet technologies
Experience implementing and maintaining development version control processes
Strong systems analysis skills, degree educated (IT honours preferred)
