Work to agreed project plans with regard to design, development, testing and implementation processes.
Design and development of technical 'Proof of concepts'
Design, development and demonstration of technical prototypes
Document solutions in accordance with agreed quality standards.
Ensure development is conducted in accordance with processes relating to Standards, Configuration Control, Project Lifecycle Methodologies, Quality Control and Documentation.
Attend to critical queries and issues related to Company web sites
Liaise with the Business, other GBS Teams and GBS Management to facilitate the development and maintenance of existing systems
Follow a structured development process when performing development, testing, and hand over of new implementations.
Ensure clear and consistent communication at all times
Assist with other company Projects where appropriate
Act as a technical resource and point of contact for the business in technical matters
Understand Division level E-commerce business needs, and requirements
Coach junior members of the development team in relevant technologies and development best practices.
Share technical knowledge across the eCommerce Development Team
Report activities, technical issues etc. to the EAPAC Web Development Team Leader.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Required:
A minimum of 2–3 years commercial development experience using JSP, JAVA, HTML and XML
An additional 1-2 years experience in ATG Dynamo 5.x (including DAS, DPS, DCS, B2Bcommerce and DSS)
A good knowledge of SQL queries, PL/SQL and a good understanding of Oracle 9i
A strong understanding of structured, object oriented development methodologies. Experience developing solutions utilising the RUP or Agile Methodologies.
Willing to learn new processes and apply to daily work.
Working knowledge of a Sun Solaris environment.
Experience developing solutions utilising a source/version control system and an understanding of deployment issues
Full development lifecycle experience
Experience working in diverse global teams
A background in Software engineering is highly desirable
Degree qualified, preferably with honours or at the post graduate level
Helpful:
Some understanding of PERL
Ability to read/write class diagrams, sequence diagrams
Experience in AS400 or RPG technologies would be helpful
