Main Purpose of Role:
To Ensure product of good quality is produced to production schedule as part of a team of wire persons within the production environment, responsible to the team leader.
Main Responsibilities:
Able to understand basic documentation
Able to read line diagrams, engineering drawings and parts lists
Able to cut, strip, indent and crimp wires
Can make looms to defined drawings on formers or boards (make cable forms).
No soldering, but able to use all other basic tools
Able to recognise all of the main components likely to be used
Able to wire up simple units
Aware of calibration requirements and understands there importance
Good level of soldering
High standard of crimping (Ray Skipp) with any crimp tool
Able to fit any connectors and sleeves to cable forms or equipment
Has knowledge of cable sizes and types, ratings and applications
Has adequate skills in harnessing using cable ties AND lacing cord.
Has an awareness of Production Procedures, Customer Specs, Engineering, DCRs, `Ray Skipp`
Able to conduct continuity testing where required
