The Network Engineer will undertake and manage design and provisioning activities associated with legacy SDH networks handed over by the HA to GeneSYS, carrying out the following activities: • Identify all necessary information required for the satisfactory operation of the NTN • Manage design and provisioning activities for the NTN on behalf of GeneSYS and the HA • Update all information pertaining to the NTN following activation • Support the Power/Communications Engineer in identifying network provisioning options for legacy communications systems • Support the Project Manager in delivering work packages identified in Section 3.2 above The Network Engineer will have the following skills/capabilities. Essential: • Direct experience (3-8 years) in design or specification of highway traffic control and communication systems. Desirable: • Experience of radio and or SCADA-based systems, • Previous working experience with Highways Agency working practices. • Previous experience in a customer facing environment. • Experienced at working to strict time scales in which to deliver projects.
