This company urgently require an Electronic Engineer to lead and participate in wide ranging, multi-disciplinary projects ranging in time scales from 3 to 36 months.
The ideal candidate will be equally at home in developing ingenious electronic solutions as well as representing the company directly to their clients.
Essential experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in commercial electronic design projects.
Low power, portable, analogue and digital electronic equipment design.
EMC testing and debug.
Use of schematic and PCB CAD packages.
Circuit prototyping, debug and rework.
Electronic circuit simulation.
Design for manufacturability.
Design partitioning between hardware and firmware.
Appreciation of embedded firmware development.
Presentation of technical subject to both technical and none technical audiences.
Beneficial experience:
Use of ProtelDXP circuit design CAD package.
PLC development.
Authoring of specification, test and verification plans and documentation development.
Experience of developing medical devices and/or for safety critical.
FPGA design and simulation using VHDL and/or Verilog.
Previously worked for a world-class design consultancy.
Flexible circuit board design.
Embedded firmware development in C.
Optical systems.
FMEA, DFMA and risk analysis.
Communication protocols i.e. CAN, USB, IrDA, PCI.
Mechanical control projects.
Project planning using MS Project.
Interfacing to a diverse multidisciplinary team.
Small team management.
Management of sub contactors.
Ideal personality

Operates well under time deadlines and within fixed development budgets to balance time, cost and quality.
Able to accurately plan work and content of projects, estimate development costs and time scales as well as final product costs.

Qualification:
Min 2:1 Degree in Electronics or similar discipline. Have subsequently attended some form of training courses or technical conference that infers the will for career progression. |
