Hardware Design Engineer – Power Electronics Based South Cheshire. THE ROLE: Design and development of AC Drives and associated communications and options products. Key duties include: Participating in Product Specification; Concepts and Project Planning Design of Electronic Power Circuits Design for High Volume Manufacture and Cost Targets Product Integration and Design Proving Support Product Introduction into Manufacture Product Support Activities REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of the following: Good knowledge of analogue, power supply and power electronic circuits for 230/400V type applications. Design tools including schematic entry; simulation tools and analysis techniques. Design Proving Techniques – prototyping, product proving /validation and approvals against relevant international standards. Involvement with design projects, through the full design cycle, from concept to product launch. Design for high volume manufacture and meeting cost targets. EMC and ESD. Knowledge of 230V/400V AC Drives would be advantageous. The applicant will possess a Degree in Electronics Engineering or associated subject and hold a full UK Driving Licence. They should also be prepared to work overseas for short durations. Knowledge of the German language would be useful. THE PERSON: The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of two years experience in a design environment. A newly qualified graduate may be considered if they can demonstrate good technical knowledge and a willingness to learn. Candidates should also be flexible and adaptable; have good communication skills; be a good team player and be able to work accurately and unsupervised.
