The second largest rail infrastructure equipment company in the world. Their products and services include high output track construction and renewal machines, rail grinders, stoneblowers, tampers and road/rail equipment. In addition to the design and build of equipment, the company is unique in its provision of operation and support services. Due to the buisness growth they now have vacancies in the following areas- South East, South, North East, North West. Your key reponsibilities will include supervising and carrying out day to day repairs, warranty support and planned maintenance programmes to ensure a high level of operational reliablility and efficiency of rolling stock and equipment. A time served Mechanical or Electrical Engineer (or with equivalent experience), you will have a background of 5 or more years as a Fitter/Engineer. Ideally this will have encompassed hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics and computer based control systems. Computer literate (microsoft packages) and a good all round communicator, you should have a flexible approach as these positions are home based with a varied work pattern to meet the demands of contracts and any emergencies which may arise. Experience in, or an understanding of, the railway industry and products would also be an advantage.
