My client is a young and dynamic company with links throughout the world to other parts of the entire group. They offer expertise in design and build, decommissioning, land remediation, consultancy, radiation safety and nuclear support services.
At present they have an exciting opportunity for a CE&I Desgin Engineer and will be part of a multi-disciplinary design team engaged in large scale upgrade of existing nuclear processing plant.
Duties include the preparation of designs to effectively meet customer needs. Prepare supporting design calculations. Checking designs and calculations prepared by others. Preparation of technical specifications. Preparation of reports or technical documentation. Preparation of installation, commissioning and operating documents. Preparation of risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures
Qualifications - Minimum HNC level. Preferably degree in engineering discipline, e.g. BSc Electrical Engineering. Working towards chartership in MIEE or Incorporated Engineer, Ieng. Eligible for DV Clearance. Clean driving licence
Experience: Knowledge of nuclear plants would be ideal for but not essential. Wanting to work in a multidiscipline design environment/team. Graduates (+1-2 yrs) can work if have the right pre-degree exposure/experience/focus. Electrical Design experience including cabling (using AMTECH ideally), sizing, control panel design, systems design, power supply and distribution etc. Conceptual design experience. Conversant with design calculations. AutoCAD Designing – not a CAD operator/draughtsperson. Experienced in design for; (EC&I; Electrical Control & Instrumentation, EC&A; Electrical Control & Automation). SCADA, PLC design – ideal for Sizewell B project – unlikely at junior level. Knowledge of codes, software systems is good but not essential. This can be covered by existing contractors. Team player providing technical expertise. Knowledge of design standards is an advantage. Understanding of design based risk assessment. Experience of writing reports is an advantage but is not the main focus for this role.
Based Oxfordshire. Salary is up to £35k. Relocation package on offer.
