Main Purpose of Job:
Primary task is supplier & distributor management / development so as to ensure continued growth in sales & profits. To communicate effectively with our customers, prepare costings & quotations, secure orders & maximise gross margins, set targets and ensure distributors deliver plan targets, troubleshooting. Ensure compliance with specifications & appropriate certification bodies. Undertake product selection & design as required. Manage pre & post order documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the continued growth in sales & profits of Global through the effective management of distributors. 2. Provide a high quality product, on-time & at a competitive cost.
3. Communicate effectively with our distributors & end customers.
4. Ensure quotations & technical specifications against customer enquiry are provided in a timely manner. 5. Ensure technical queries are answered both in a timely & effective manner.
6. Provide & document competitor intelligence & recommendations for action in regard to competitor activity.
7. Ensure marketing is of a satisfactory standard and if necessary prepare new marketing campaigns / initiatives with other Product Managers & Marketing.
8. Manage distributor agreements / Terms & conditions of supply.
Person Specification:
Understands stock control / purchase order systems. IT literate & able to use basic stock control / order purchase systems. Able to generate and act upon customised reports - ODBC Link. Understanding of sales order processing techniques. CAD literate - able to modify & create drawings. Possess necessary engineering skills to undertake product selection & design. Have both application & product performance knowledge.
Skills and Abilities: Excellent telephone skills / articulate. Persuasive & dogmatic with customers - able to provide a high level of support. Able to organise self to ensure priorities are met. Provide our customers / distributors with product training; technical support; presentations; application examples etc. |
