Due to the continued growth of their Customer Service Department, they wish to appoint a Field Service Engineer (North West based) who is responsible for providing high-level technical support and assistance to Service clients.
The role will require regular UK and overseas travel to clients sites for commissioning, modifying, upgrading and fault finding on various process control systems in applications such as emergency shutdown systems, file and gas detection and burner management systems.
When not on site this role will encompass many aspects of office-based (Stockport) engineering activities such as liaising with customers to assess their requirements and providing practical solutions, assisting in the production of designs, drawings and documentation and of course generating site documentation.
In addition, the Service Department provides 24 hour telephone support to Service clients, which requires an on-call commitment on an established duty roster.
Candidates must have at least 3 years experience working in a similar capacity in a safety and control systems, or similar systems based environment. HNC/D qualification in electrical/electronic engineering is essential. Candidates who have practical experience of process control systems in hazardous areas and ideally, familiar with the requirements of IEC 61508, will have a distinct advantage. |
