PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To conduct product maintenance, installation and commissioning service. Assist with product training, bench repair, hire of equipment, and calibration. To liaise with customers for technical and service enquiries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develop the Product Service customer base to encompass maintenance, 24-hour cover, installation & commissioning. To maintain 24-hour cover for the Product Support Contracts with the Service Supervisor, and to assist with quotations for the renewal of the Contracts. To liaise with existing customers to identify maintenance requirements and assist with quotation and obligations for Product Maintenance. Develop customer awareness of Product Service capability. To assist with Product Training, being fully conversant with the latest versions of products wherever possible. To ensure that sufficient spares are held for requirements, keeping costs in line with budget. To offer technical help to customers both external and internal. To assist with the upkeep of Product Service & CE manuals. To assist with ensuring the smooth running of the demonstration equipment, and when relevant, the Customer Training equipment. To update the Technical Services Supervisor on all relevant matters. To assist in producing each month a report of service matters, to include details of emergency and general call-outs. Whilst the role calls for an emphasis on Products, it is expected that a full and flexible approach is adopted to all Technical Service requirements. To be flexible in working environment and location, in the UK and Overseas, consistent with good working practices and those countries the UK government consider a safe location to visit. To liaise with all departments to ensure the smooth running of the group. To assist in anyway not previously detailed to ensure the continuance and growth of the company.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential: HNC/ONC qualification in Industrial Measurement & Control, and a recognised Health & Safety qualification.
Desirable: Training in office computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software. Prepared to work towards a recognised IEE qualification Training in Leadership & Personal Development.
EXPERIENCE:
Essential: Minimum of 2 years experience in an industrial and technical environment. Experience with the repair and calibration of instrumentation. Team-working within a busy environment. Good telephone manner.
Desirable: Experience in the preparation of quotations and reports. Dealing with customer telephone enquiries Use of computer based reporting and order handling systems. |
