MANUFACTURING MANAGER - Components.
Job Purpose: To direct and control the company`s components manufacturing operation to ensure that all targets are met within the specified quality standards and budgets.
Main Responsibilities:
Direct and control staff in manufacturing to ensure that they are appropriately trained and motivated to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
Oversee all operating processes to ensure that the most efficient and effective use is made of plant and equipment and that safety standards are adhered to.
Prepare and monitor profit plans to ensure that the optimum use is made of production resources.
Monitor output to ensure that production meets the established standards in terms of both quality and quantity.
Maintain regular contact with other departments to ensure that they are aware of production requirements and to identify potential problems.
Provide advice and support to other departments on production issues.
Implement Lean and manage change within the department.
Qualifications:
Preferably degree level with additional management qualifications.
Good understanding and application of lean manufacturing techniques.
Knowledge of metal removal or high volume, precision machining.
Degree qualified in either manufacturing or production engineering.
Able to demonstrate successful cost savings/efficiency improvements in manufacturing processes.
Past experience of value engineering would be an advantage together with Kaizan activities. |
