My client has an exciting opportunity for a DCS Lead Engineer. You will provide technical and organisational lead to a team of engineers on DCS projects. Provide status reports of project progress to the project manager. Provide the contact point with the client on all aspects of the DCS design and implementation. Produce the Functional Design Specifications for the DCS system as defined in the project URS. Produce detailed design specifications from the user I/O lists and sequence specification documents. Supervise or implement the detailed design, by producing functional drawings (using engineering building tools), to implement the DCS control system functions. This includes all regulatory control, interlock sequences, function blocks and graphic screen design. Produce method statements detailing the tasks, materials and procedures required to achieve objectives on-site. Ensure that all project tasks are being completed in accordance with the project plan, and report any problems or deviations to the project manager.
You will be responsible for the production of DCS control system under direction the DCS Team Leader. Provide progress information to the project manager. Work to the requirements of the user specifications and the company work instructions and procedures. Produce all required documentation.
You should be confident and assertive individual with the ability to work on own initiative. Have a professional and responsive approach, to gain credibility through integrity, technical knowledge and personality. You should be able to deal effectively and efficiently with people and systems, whether internal or external.
You will hold a Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering, Computing or Process Control. Preferably further qualifications in Computing, Quality, Validation. Your experience should include 2 years batch process control engineering experience. 5 years DCS configuration in process control systems. Proficiency in a high level object based computer language e.g. Visual Basic, C++. Any experience of CS3000 batch and SEBOL programming language is desirable.
Based Cheshire. Excellent package up to £30k.
