PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
To supply professional control & instrumentation services to our client.
Proven ability in modern Industrial Control & Instrumentation System Design plus either:
Minimum Honours degree + 3 years experience in an industrial design environment.
Minimum HNC + 10 years experience in an industrial design environment. History must be known by the company.
Junior Control Engineers may be promoted in shorter periods than above on proven ability.
The Control Technicians may be promoted in shorter periods than above based on their proven
ability working on projects and, if following a day release course, their successful completion / award of final certificate.
MANAGEMENT
Manage multi-skill projects consisting of single controllers in stand alone applications.
When sufficiently experienced and with backup from a Senior control engineer, the control engineer will also manage multi controller projects.
Control Small Project Finances - up to a maximum of £100 000.
To understand the impact and relevance of their work, in relation to the ISO9000 Quality Management System and the company`s quality objectives.
Ensure all Safety, ISO9000, Technical & Administrative standards are conformed with.
Ensure all clients standards are complied with.
Liase with clients at levels from Project Engineers or Managers to shop floor.
Assist as required in the General Management of the Company.
Supervise contract services such as Drawing Office, Panel Builders, Installation Services etc.
TECHNICAL
To carry out or to manage others, as required, in activities such as Hardware Design, Panel Building, Installation, and Commissioning of:
Industrial Control Systems.
Instrumentation.
Electrical Systems up to & including 415V AC (Supervision of others may be necessary at higher voltages).
To write Software for PLCs (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens, GE Fanuc), Controllers & Computers Etc.
Select & Configure SCADA systems.
Select & Configure MES systems.
Write technical manuals for projects.
Keep up to date with:
Latest Technology.
Professional Standards.
Safety Standards and the Health & Safety System.
Client Standards.
Company Procedures & Policies.
Quality Management System.
GENERAL
Must Hold: Current Passport and Driving Licence.
Is required to stay away from home whilst commissioning or managing installations.
Is required to travel overseas on business occasionally. |
