My client has an exciting opportunity for an Mechanical Project Engineer.
Main functions and responsibilities to design and develop the mechanical specification used in the manufacture of new products and existing products. This will involve: Feasibility studies on ideas for new product concepts. Producing design layouts ensuring functionality and manufacturability of all components. Modelling the areas of mechanical design. Detailing component parts. Defining material specifications and advising on production methods. Testing of critical areas of the designs. Liaising on tooling for component manufacture. Checking final component parts for manufacture. Ensuring detail drawings and associated documentation is kept fully updated. Having responsibility for the design from concept to production
Academic Qualifications: Minimum qualification in Mechanical Engineering. A Degree in Product Design will also be considered
Knowledge or skills: Ideally possess experience in designing mechanisms. Ideally possess experience in the design of small Electro-mechanical / electronic products. Experience of product design work involving use of injection-moulded components would be an advantage. The experienced use of 3D CAD (ideally SRDC Ideas/Artisan). Experience in design for volume production
