The successful applicant will report to the Production Engineering Team Leader and be responsible for the following:
Manage the implementation of new products:
Facilitate meetings
Produce and manage project plans
Knowledge of Design for Manufacture & FMEA
Change Control process & Material Management (SAP)
Manage & Improve existing products:
Understand and calculate Standard times, Efficiency, Utilisation & OEE
Facilitate CIP team meetings & coach new members in tools needed
Experience of 8D reports & Six Sigma in problem solving
Manage Excess Costs Before Delivery (Material Rejects Notes & Rework)
Write and Maintain Work Instructions / Standard Operating Procedures
Plan and implement new layouts:
Develop factory layouts inline with capacity & LEAN strategy
Use simulation software to specify labour (Direct & indirect) and capital requirements
Manage contractors for installation of new / modified lines
Specify and set up material handling requirements (material & PCB)
Knowledge of volume electromechanical manufacturing methods and technologies.
DC spindles / flexible manufacturing systems / Pallet transfer systems / PLCs
Qualified to Degree/HNC or equivalent in mechanical and / or electronic engineering.
IT literate including MS office, MS Visio & Project and SAP / CADIM
Must be able to work in a pressurised environment.
A friendly, approachable individual, with good communication and team working skills.
Knowledge of the German language would be an advantage.
Willingness to travel when necessary both UK and Germany. |
