As my client further expands its product range they have exciting opportunity for additional Hardware Design Engineers.
The Job: Our engineers have many responsibilities, and in particular they are involved in all the following:
1: Design and development of single board computer products from definition through to introduction to manufacturing
2: Production technical support
3: Project leading and design reviewing
4: Maintaining awareness of new technologies
5: Pre and post-sales backup to our technical support team
6: The more senior role will involve additional team management responsibilities, both at the technical level and also in terms of personnel management.
Working in a small company environment means that the majority of each design is completed by an individual engineer, who quickly becomes involved with all aspects of the product design and development. Short design timescales are an important part of the development strategy, which also results in the engineers being involved in many different product designs quite quickly. Therefore the ability to communicate effectively with others within the company at an engineering level is an important additional attribute.
Qualifications: Candidates should be engineering graduates, with at least five years post graduate experience of digital hardware design and familiar with some or all of the following:
1: 32/64 bit microprocessors, preferably Intel 80x86 architecture
2: High performance communications peripheral devices, e.g. Gigabit Ethernet or SCSI
3: Complex programmable logic devices and FPGAs
4: High performance bus architectures e.g. PCI-Express, RapidIO, CompactPCI or VME
5: High speed logic (100MHz and faster)
6: Advanced memory technologies, e.g. DDR or DDR II SDRAM
Benefits: Very competitive salary package with relocation allowance where appropriate. Company-supported private pension scheme plus other benefits.
Based either Cambridgeshire or Essex.
