A number of Electronic Design Engineers are required to develop circuits and systems for a range of hand held instruments. You should be proficient in Analogue and Digital Design techniques, with experience in the design of one or more of the following:
- Inductive Sensor (e.g.LVDT) interfacing
- Low noise, low power amplifiers
- High voltage, low power battery operated power supplies
- Programmable Analogue and/or Digital circuits
- Metal detector circuits and systems
- Design for Electromagnetic Compatibility
- Microcontroller Systems design
An appreciation of or experience in the development of embedded software using `C` or assembler would be a positive benefit. All designs are created using OrCAD products and simulated with PSpice where appropriate and so experience of OrCAD or Pspice would be beneficial. You will work closely with a PCB Designer to realise a PCB, which meets the design requirements including EMC conformance.
Products are designed as portable instruments and so techniques for low power consumption and surface mount technology are key design skills. You should also be used to prototyping with surface mount technology, although complex PCB`s with surface mounted components are assembled within the Company`s own manufacturing area. Engineers are expected to manage designs during the pre-production phases, working closely with the production engineers.
All designs should be cost effective to manufacture in small to medium size production runs and experience of designing products for these volumes is required.
You should be qualified to Degree level or equivalent with at least 5 years experience designing industrial controls/instrumentation or similar role.
The company is ISO9000 and ISO14001 certified and offers an excellent no smoking working environment with both pension and bonus schemes. |
