Experienced FPGA firmware specialists are required to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team developing digital radio products for wireless communications infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience implementing digital hardware designs in FPGAs, using VHDL.
Working closely with digital hardware engineers and DSP specialists, the FPGA Firmware Engineer will take responsibility for the implementation of signal processing algorithms in VHDL. The role will include configuration and integration of in-house and vendor IP blocks and will cover synthesis, simulation, place-and-route, timing closure and test bench development.
Strong communication skills are required as this role involves working closely with digital hardware and DSP specialists.
Key aspects of the role include:
- VHDL implementation of digital signal processing algorithms, serial communications protocols and other digital circuits
- Configuration and integration of FPGA IP blocks from various sources
- Simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure for Xilinx / Altera FPGAs
- FPGA test bench development
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary development team
Experience and qualifications:
- At least 3 years post-graduate engineering experience in a similar role
- Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (or related)
