My client currently has an exciting opportunity for a control systems engineer to join their successful team.
Job Purpose: Responsible to the Projects Manager, the Engineer will assist in the development of allocated projects to ensure the technical, safety and quality requirements are achieved, in the most efficient manner and within the specified timescales. To keep abreast of industry developments and technical changes.
Main Duties & Responsibilities: To assist in the design and build of engineering solutions to customer specifications, working with the team members; Project Manager, Design Engineers, CAD operators and documentation personnel to produce designs, drawings and documentation. Liaison with customers to determine their requirements and assist them in the development of their control systems requirements. Support the Project Manager in processing client changes to contracts. Liaise/communicate with clients, providing progress and feedback as and when required. Assisting/leading Factory Acceptance Testing. Occasionally there may be a requirement to follow projects to site for commissioning purposes. Coach and support Design Engineers to establish best practice. Assist and develop Design Engineers day to day to help them fulfil their potential. Assist in the development of company design standards applicable to engineering. Ensure compliance with all Quality Assurance Procedures and current legislation / standards. When deadlines are not achieved analysis of events and feedback to Senior Management to identify problem areas and prevent re-occurrence. Working with the Materials Controller to purchase equipment and sub systems.
The above duties and responsibilities represent the main task areas of the above position. However all employees are expected to undertake any other job or work within their capabilities and the post holder should be flexible in their job role.
From time to time, the Company may need to change the duties and responsibilities of some of the staff to support the Company`s changing business requirements. Employees will be consulted should their tasks and roles need to be revised or changed.
Essential: Several years working at Engineer level designing process control systems to meet technical, safety and quality requirements. Project / budget management exposure. Communication and customer interface skills. Microsoft Word & Excel (intermediate). HNC/BTEC Electrical / Electronic Engineering qualification. Driving Licence.
Desirable: DCS, PLC (Siemens S7) and SCADA (Intouch, Allen Bradley, Intellution) systems experience. Experience of motor drives. Working experience of AutoCAD Lt. Broad understanding of IEC 61508 (Safety Integrity Levels)
Basic Salary Range: £24,000 - £27,000 p.a. negotiable dependant upon experience + overtime. Duty/Standby Roster: Approximately £100.00 per week + other benefits.
