The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of sourcing strategies where the key commodities they purchase are concerned. With the help of an external purchasing consultant this activity has already started and there will be a defined period of working along side this person after which you will assume full responsibility. You will raise the profile of the Supply Chain activity within the company. Reduce the Total Cost of Ownership of all purchased goods and services to further develop competitiveness in accordance with agreed targets. The professional development of all people involved in purchasing goods and services who have an indirect reporting line into the Supply Chain Manager. Skills Required (Essential): Must have strong experience of purchasing, preferably within an engineering related industry. Able to forge effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers at all levels within the respective organisations. Must have a collaborative, open style in terms of driving through change and some experience of managing projects. Must view the Supply Chain/purchasing activity from a Total Cost of Ownership/holistic business perspective. Well developed analytical and negotiation skills. Familiar with reviewing/negotiating contracts/agreements. Some experience of managing people, either directly or indirectly.
