This is a technical position within the Quality Department and the successful individual will be responsible for managing the complete Quality Assurance product life cycle for AC Drives. Key duties include: Definition and implementation of the Out Of Box product test strategies in co-operation with RD, Test Engineering and external design authorities to minimise risk of early life failure. Definition and implementation of Repair Centre Testing strategies to maximise customer satisfaction through failure analysis of field returns and instigation of corrective actions within RD and or Manufacturing Processes. Definition and implementation of Reliability Testing Strategies in order to minimise risk of early life failure. Planning OOB capacity (equipment and resource) to meet sales forecasts of new products. Requirements: Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of the following: Experience of 230V/400V AC Drives products and associated Field Communications Systems e.g. Profibus, Profinet, CAN, ASi and Devicenet would be advantageous. An appreciation of Electronics, Mechanical Construction and Software development processes. Knowledge of C programming language and Visual Basic with appropriate experience using the LabWindows/CVI integrated development environment and the concept of Dynamics Link Libraries (DLLs) would be advantageous. A knowledge of volume electronic manufacturing testing practices including PCB ICT Power Systems and Switchgear Technology. A knowledge of system test solutions with particular emphasis on reliability / lifetime testing. Ability to plan and manage the introduction of new test equipment. Person: Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering. 2 years experience in the design of Power Electronic testing practices. Experience of managing suppliers of bespoke test equipment. Flexible and adaptable with excellent communication skills. Used to working in a pressurised environment. Prepared to travel overseas at short notice and full UK driving licence.
