An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work within their Plant Engineering Department, providing design and technical assistance to the plant maintenance, fabrication and instrumentation departments.
The role, as part of a small multi-disciplined team that design heavy plant equipment, will involve the integration of steel plate fabrication, with hydraulic and pneumatic products, along with computer software programs, which are used in harsh environments.
Responsible for the mechanical design of both new products and the upgrading of existing designs, the role will involve taking a design from concept through to final assembly.
Key tasks include the modelling of parts, assemblies, producing detailed drawings of the assembly using Inventor, checking drawings for dimensional accuracy, tolerances and presentation.
They are looking for a competent qualified mechanical design engineer, preferably at degree level, or equivalent, who is proficient in the use of 3D CAD software, FEA and hand calculations.
