The Position:
My client wish to recruit an engineer to join their Nuclear Services Department, based at the Warrington (Birchwood) office on a Full Time Staff basis. Opportunities may also exist at the Bristol (Thornbury) office.
The Group currently undertakes work for a number of clients in the civil and defence sectors, and the significant prospects emerging early in 2007 provides a strong foundation for further growth.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have the following essential attributes
· Degree qualified or Chartered status
· At least the last 5 years spent in a Nuclear Safety Systems role
· Local to the Warrington or Bristol offices
The ideal candidate will probably have an electrical, control or instrumentation background, though this is not essential. Candidates offering civil nuclear experience or defence-related nuclear experience will be of interest. Training such as Author-Verifier or Safety Case Officer status within a client organisation, or experience in producing Design Substantiation Reports/Periodic Safety Reviews would be an advantage.
Special note would be taken of experience gained in IEC 61508 or similar client-specific safety guidelines.
The grade of appointment will be made as Project Engineer, Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer and will be appropriate to the experience of the candidate. For appointments at Principal Engineer grade, an extensive knowledge of the client business drivers and organisation will be expected.
