Job Title: Development Technician
Location: Newton Aycliffe, County Durham
Job Description:
This role will provide support to the Development Team and will involve testing MMICs, MIC Test Pieces, Development PCAs, and Transceivers and working closely with production and test engineering teams on short, medium and long term goals.
The role involves:
· Manual and software controlled testing
· Collating test results and presenting results for statistical analysis.
· Generating manufacture packages and BOMs
· Liasing between production and design ensuring the smooth transition to volume manufacturing incorporating materials, processes, design rules, cost reductions and continuous improvement.
· Fault diagnosis and root cause analysis of retuned product
· Setting up, calibrating, aligning test sites and installing software.
· Inspecting and generating reports on incoming material, e.g. duroid circuits, attached duroid circuits, surface mount assembly, MMICs.
· Assembly of test pieces and implementing modifications to Breadboard and Prototype units. Soldering of surface mount components, manual wire bonding, attaching circuits to substrates, assembling test fixtures etc required.
· Assist in material and component qualification & cost reduction activities.
Candidates should possess:-
· ONC/HNC or equivalent in a related subject
· 3 years experience in RF Electronics/Microwave Test environment.
· Experience of using test equipment :- VNAs, Spectrum Analysers, Power Meters, RF Synthesisers, Oscilloscopes, DC Power Supplies, Computers, Ovens.
· Familiarity with Syteline / ERP system.
· Experience in electronics fault diagnosis
· Experience in the use of the following software packages:- :- Word, Excel, Autocad, Altium designer (or PCAD).
· Ability to read and understand electronic circuit schematic diagrams
· Candidates should also possess good communication skills, have an organised and disciplined approach to tasks, be self motivated and be able to use initiative.
