My client is an independent process automation and information solutions and consultancy services provider to the manufacturing and utilities industries for over 20 years.
They are currently looking to employ an experienced engineer to join their expanding service team. Applicants should hold a formal engineering qualification e.g. HNC/HND/ Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation Engineering or similar discipline and have suitable and comparable service experience with a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Client Server based platforms and Process Controllers and a wide range of PLC/ SCADA/ database applications.
Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the position involves the provision of support and service to the companies customers on a 24/7 basis. The engineer would be required to share in an on call Standby Rota on a rotational basis with the other engineers in the department.
Main responsibilities for the role:
1) Response to service and breakdown calls on an ongoing basis.
2) Support to the companies existing customer base on equipment including, PLC`s, scada, HMI, industrial communications, Ethernet, Profibus, ControlNet & DeviceNet.
3) Preventitive maintenance tasks at customers site.
4) Ad-Hoc field service to new and existing customers.
5) Undertake small project work.
6) Assistance to the engineering department, both for support and commissioning assistance.
7) Development and generation of service contracts with new and existing customers.
8) Facilitation of the company’s service business including reporting and invoicing.
9) Training and feedback to the engineering team of problems and solutions development during routine service operations.
My client are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their service team. The individual should have suitable and comparable service experience, possess good written and verbal communication skills, have a thorough knowledge of
SCADA applications as well as software design skills applicable to PLC`s, PC`s and other programmable devices. Where necessary specific product training will be provided.
They operate in all major industries, offering turn key solutions to Manufacturing & Utilities Industries across the Uk and in other countries. Successful applicants would be expected to travel to customers sites in the locality as well as further afield in the UK, there is also the opportunity to travel overseas on occasion. Applicants must
