Working as part of the Environment Division, this post is for a senior engineer to join their growing hydraulic engineering team supervising the study, design and delivery of a number of ongoing projects in the UK and overseas.
Initially reporting to the head of Hydraulic Engineering and working on wide ranging projects in the UK, the candidate would also be expected to play a major role in developing major hydraulic structures overseas - their portfolio of ongoing projects includes a number of large dam projects that comprise the study, design and implementation of new dams and the rehabilitation of existing structures.
Candidate specification:
To apply for this position you will educated to degree level with a degree in civil engineering. A second degree in a related topic such as flood hydrology, geotechnical engineering or hydraulic engineering would be advantageous but not essential. You will have at least 10 years of post graduation experience in the UK and overseas and it is likely that you will be Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Most of your experience will have been within the water sector with design and construction experience on dams and hydraulic engineering works. You will be familiar with the current requirements for reservoir safety in the UK including the application and estimation of extreme flood flows. It is likely that you will be a member of the Panel of Supervising Engineers.
