My client is a Control and Automation company specialising in industrial systems integration for some of the UK’s leading blue chip companies and process contractors.
They are seeking to expand their engineering design team by recruiting a small number of high calibre control and automation professionals.
Successful candidates will be qualified to degree level in a relevant engineering subject with previous experience.
Description of Job:
As part of the engineering team your responsibilities will be primarily the design and implementation of electrical control systems. This must be coupled with an ability to communicate and present ideas well in order to provide advisory services.
This role requires an understanding of the project lifecycle from concept through to completion. The position also includes responsibility for maintaining high standards in line with their quality procedures throughout project lifecycles and ensuring that the projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Duties and responsibilities:
The position will incorporate the following duties and responsibilities:
Liaison with clients
Management of subcontractors
Work as part of a team or alone with senior guidance as required
Participating in the tendering process
Report writing and surveying
Functional design specification documentation
Control system software design and implementation
Control system hardware design
Electrical control panel design
Industrial Ethernet network design and testing
Real time database and query software development
Factory acceptance test specification documentation
Client facing factory acceptance testing
Generation of risk assessments and method statements
On site installation, testing and process commissioning
Maintain good client relations throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications:
Honours Degree in a relevant engineering subject.
Relevant control system design experience in a similar role.
Have high intellect, a demonstrated problem solving ability and be able to work to tight timescales.
Good written and communication skills.
Experience in a consultancy role would be advantageous.
Experience of process contracting would be advantageous.
Experience in the Water Industry would be advantageous.
Exposure to high level languages (VB, C++, SQL, html) would be desirable.
Some mechanical and process understanding would be desirable.
Possess an interest in industrial control and automation.
Experience with some of the following is essential:
PLC Software: Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi.
HMI/SCADA Systems: Intouch and system platform, FT/RSView ME/SE/32, Intellution IFIX/FIX32, Allen Bradley Panelview Plus, Mitsubishi.
DCS Systems: Siemens PCS7, Emerson DeltaV.
Telemetry Systems: Serck, Micro Medina, Exomatic.
Salary: £30k to £40k per annum depending on experience.
