My client are currently expanding and are looking to recruit a Senior Production Manager to be based in their Coventry office.
 
Overall Job Purpose:
The direction of personnel and the efficient application of the Business’s resources to manage the day to day production environment, safely, effectively and efficiently. Measure KPIs for business processes and facilities and develop improvement plans to meet the Business’s objectives. Undertake investigations into adverse performance and/or problems to identify root cause and plan and implement corrective action.
 
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the Production Managers across all site operations at all times ensuring adequate cover at all times.
Manage all Production to achieve the build programme on a day to day basis within agreed resource levels.
Ensuring correct procedures on Health & Safety are followed and ensure that any safety concerns are acted on immediately.
Responsible for ensuring agreed Quality standards are achieved and procedures are followed.
Responsible for ensuring Internal Quality/Damage issues are dealt with in a timely manner, and that corrective actions agreed are communicated and monitored for effectiveness. Deal directly with the customers STA and Purchasing and the component suppliers as necessary and track all issues to completion.
Responsible for ensuring housekeeping and general tidiness of the site is maintained to the highest standard (5S).
Responsible for ensuring effective and cost efficient transport of the product.
Ensuring that correct processes and procedures are adhered to at all time.
Responsible for the security of the site and the safe keeping of all components and finished stock.
 
Education:
Preferably, you will have a degree qualification (or equivalent) in either manufacturing operations management or engineering or proven practical experience.
A H&S qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely) or Membership of appropriate professional body would be advantageous.
 
Knowledge:
Knowledge of applicable H&S legislation
Lean manufacturing
Production processes
Quality processes
Wheel and/or tyre knowledge

Experience:
Previous experience of managing large teams within a manufacturing environment
Experience of handling customer complaints and queries face to face
KPI / QOS reporting
Experience of working within the automotive industry
